To Be Known – Poetry

I’m back with #MondayMusings. I’m not talking about anybody in particular in this poem so don’t ask me to whom I might be referring (grammar on point). It ain’t nobody (grammar not on point). I really like this one though. Hope you do too.

To Be Known

In his eyes, I see myself clearly

I am reflected in his light

It is there that I shine most brightly

Me, the person I know I’ve not introduced

The person I so rarely reveal

Yet, he knows me still

And causes me to know myself all the more

I am seen and intimately known

For that, I am grateful

I'm Mariah. Jesus is my homie. I live in (and was raised in) the south. I am, as often as possible, actively grateful for my family because I understand their life giving power. Really dislike melodramatics. Really love reading and writing so much so that I aspire to be an author. What else?
