Hey, y’all. I’ve been missing in action for a few Monday’s and I have no excuse. I just didn’t feel like it. #MondayMusings is back tho! Today, I’m sharing a poem about trust, and it’s called “Trust”. I’m thinking I could be more creative with these titles but it’s all I got. Anyway, trust is the kind of thing that’s built over time and one crack in the foundation sometimes ruins it forever. But y’all already knew that. Hope you enjoy it!
Trust
I found a friend once
He laughed with me and told me every truth
Even the ones that pricked my skin
His voiced soothed the sting
So I loved him
With cement, I laid a foundation of honesty in return
Pouring and pouring until he could stand on it with confidence
There he stood when I broke a promise
The surface beneath him cracked
He fell into the distrust I created
Now he tiptoes around our faulty friendship
And no longer laughs with me
Glad you’re back. This was good. Poor guy lol.
It’s good to be back 🙂 And the poem guy is fine. Lol
